WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new feature that will allow users to select and manage multiple chats on its desktop app. Currently, this feature is only available on the Android and iOS versions of the app. The update will allow users to select multiple chats at once and perform actions such as marking them as read or unread, muting, or deleting them. A screenshot shared by WABetaInfo shows a new “Select chats” option in the drop-down menu. It is important to note that this feature is still in development and no official rollout date has been confirmed.
In addition to this update, WhatsApp is also working on a feature that will allow users to report suspicious status updates on the desktop app. Any status that is believed to violate the platform’s terms of service will be reviewed by the company. This new feature will help to keep the instant messaging platform secure by allowing users to report potentially malicious content. It is expected that this feature will be rolled out to the WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS in the future. All messages, voice calls, media, location sharing, calls, and status updates on WhatsApp are protected by end-to-end encryption, ensuring that reported status updates will also be kept secure.
